Australian, Malaysian premiers to discuss MH370, MH17

Abbott was scheduled to arrive in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday for a one-day visit, his first visit to Malaysia since he became prime minister of Australia in September 2013, according to a foreign ministry statement.

"High on the agenda is discussions on the status of the two countries’ cooperation in relation to Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 and flight MH17 incidents," the statement said. "Both Prime Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern to the countries," it added.

Australia is leading the search for the Beijing-bound MH370 which disappeared on March 8 and was believed to have crashed in the southern Indian Ocean.

It is also active in an international investigation over the crash ofMH17 on July 17 in eastern Ukraine after it was shot down by a missile, killing 38 Australian citizens and residents.
